Hello i'm Andy and i've had a '89 lhd golf syncro with the 98bhp 1P digifant engine in it. I think it used to be dutch judging by the dutch plates i found under the boot carpet! I've fitted central locking, electric windows, big bumper and arch kit and will be fitting a less drab interior. I do have big plans for the runnig gear too! |

Hi I'm phil from deepest darkest somerset - just bought a 1988 RHD 1.8 carb VW golf Mk2 5 dr syncro, very good condition, 80k miles, about two inches thick of history and paperwork, even the original brochures from the dealer - originally sold new in berkshire - i paid £450....methinks not bad...what do you think? i've already put new tyres on it (P6000s as it came with P600s) replaced the windscreen (it was cracked). It has a dent in the drivers side wing which has been filled, so i'm gonna replace that too. Trying to keep it fairly original...interior is immaculate, not a rip or a tear anywhere apart from the leather(ish) handbrake cover.
Ok so gotta stop going on...
My problem is that i cant seem to stop it overrunning! it does it every time, no matter wht i do...ive checked the cut off valve, changed the idle speed, changed the mixture...its running on the right type of fuel...any ideas? i'm gonna have to give up and take it to a garage soon! |

Hi all. I live just outside Salisbury in Wiltshire. I'm running a 3 door G60 syncro. Had it for a couple of years now, great fun! Was running 208BHP with a stock lump, but as you probably know from this site that engine has been replaced with a 20v G60 now. A few things to sort out and it'll be an animal, well I hope! |

Hi, Have I introduced myself? I'm Rob (or Bobbychef) from sunny Norwich. I have been the proud owner of my Syncro 5door since Nov'03 and still haven't got to grips with its crazy handling- but loving every minute of it.
By the way I really appreciate all of the help you guys have offered in the way of advice and sorting parts (Suspension?? he he)
Best Syncro site on the www.
Cheers
Rob |

| My name is Mark and I stay in Edinburgh, owning a pearl blue Rallye in standard spec. I've owned it for about 1 year and gradually fixed some of the problems that came with a 15 year old car. It's needed a recon power steering rack and pump, clutch, and the G-lader was overhauled by L&S Cartec with a 1 year warranty. After a full service, the car runs great but it has shown up the suspension as being very worn. Don't know whether to uprate the suspension or just renew with VAG springs and shocks. I've heard that owners had the choice of sport or comfort suspension when the car was built but don't know if this is true. |

Hi there,
My name is Trev and I live in Oxfordshire. I have just bought a three-door Edition One G60 Syncro (dark burgundy pearl). It's an amazing car and I never thought I'd find a MK2 of this specification for sale in the UK.
Cheers

| hi, i'm toby from near bristol uk. i have got a few vw's kicking around including a 1.8 syncro that i am breaking for a mk1 project. nice 5d shell no rust going cheap. i have been into vw's for years but only mk1 + 2golfs, mk3 onwards are a bit overweight for my liking. the mk1 project has been inspired by ben leech's, so will probably be similar. have not had time to look through the tech forums so no silly questions YET. might be after rallye running gear at some point in the future but will get the mk1 running first. cheers, toby.. |

Hello everybody, my name is Patrick. I live in British Columbia, Canada. I own a Mk2 Golf GT syncro, I bought it about a year ago.
It's a 1991 oak green 3 door special. It was imported from Germany 2 years ago by the previous owner.
It has 201,000km, 1.8 digi2, 5 speed, heated power mirrors, abs, mfa, rear defrost and wiper.
you can see some photos of the car here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2207701/1
